 Also skid the battery box, or do what I have done and cut 3" out of it.

Ours has been relocated into a composite box where the back seat squab used to be. I'm now thinking that probably won't comply with HRCR regs either....!!  :shy:  :D

That's partly why I kept in the boot Keith.

What size wheels do you run? We've got 12's & 13's, & with the fuel pump in the boot I'm not sure we could relocate the battery back in there & get a spare wheel in too....

I also plan to run with 12's & 13's. To be honest Keith you just reminded me of another job I need to do (spare wheel bracket). I haven't tried to fit a spare in the boot yet, hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a problem with the 5.5 tank still in there.

Apologies if this is slightly off topic.

For HRCR events the car must be fitted with bumpers. Which for me is a bit of a bu@@er as I threw mine away some years back, d'oh!

I have a clubman and I like the look of the short corner bumpers for the front and I see that a clubman on the 2011 tour of Cheshire ran with these so I presume they are legal?

Question is what type of bumper are they as not standard factory fit and can they still be purchased? Any ideas?

If you want i can pose the question to one of the Tour of Cheshire scrutineer's as i know him and he know's the rules inside out so i'm sure he can clarify the bumper issue.

Surely though, (just for an event) bumpers could be fitted to please the scutineer's and get a start place?

Could you ask him about Awamckay's Weber box question at the same time?! I'm going to try & get hold of my friendly local scrute tomorrow & ask him - but it would be interesting to see how their answer's compare....

Thanks guys it would be good to know if the short bumpers are legal. I think they may be clubman estate rear bumpers. I am rubbish at uploading pics but if you google rally mini clubman images other than loads of Rally1380's pics there is a red clubman with short bumpers and it says it was on ToC

Plus there are some estate ones on eBay at moment and much chaper than a new full bumper from minispares! Yes I am tight!

May be best to have a look on the ASWMC website;

http://www.aswmc.org.uk/nrally.htm

They run a Novice Navigational rally championship;

http://www.aswmc.org.uk/nrally.htm

(scroll down to find it)

& join one of the local clubs who run or have crews compete on the local events. Some of them will probably run twelve car or closed to club novice events too.
