Definitely a Mk2 with custom doors. Roof gutters give an early car away. If it was a late shell it would have the later style roof gutter, its one thing people don't change when they do these weird and wonderful conversions.

Mk2 and early Mk3 have the same style roof gutters/drip rails though.
Mk4 has the later cut away gutter corners for drainage which were originally covered from the factory by the black plastic gutter trim.

Fair point, forgot about that one! The rear quarters should be the smaller type with the large hinge if it's a Mk2, right? Mk1 - small rear windows all round, Mk2 large rear window small quarters, Mk3+ larger all round IIRC.
