I am thinking about building a rotisserie for my mini shell to make it easier to any repairs and paint the underside of the shell. Does anyone have any plans or even just a picture of something they have built? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I found the best place have the pole is through the bulkhead hole and through the back panel of the rear seat. (early models have a hole there) If not drill one you can weld it back after. Made the center of gravity better, easier to spin

1st one we did we fixed pole to rear parcel shelf and it didn't spin so easy

Mine does not have the cut out in the seat so i may build one that doesn't run straight through.

I ran across a place in the UK (also on ebay) that builds rotisseries. They were faily inexpensive. Like $350US or so. I have been searching and i can't find it again. Anyone have an idea of the place or ebay ad I am looking for? They weren't calling it a rotisserie. They were using another word that i can't recall...thats why I can't find it in my ebay search.

Did you use any bearings in yours or just a pipe inside a pipe?

I just used a tube in a tube, there are pics in my rebuild thread

Just as Carlos said, ... a tube inside the tube, with the little weight of an empty body-shell you have verry little friction, I could turn the MG-Midget (havier than the Mini)just with one hand.

I am hopefully going to have some time next week to build my rotisserie. I started making a plate in my spare time at work today that will allow me to lock it in position at different angles.
