Title says it all really.

We've all heard of A C Dodd and how brilliant he is not only tuning but building too.

But is there anyone else in the UK with similar credentials for tuning especially?

Where are the very best tuners?

Not all about who is best it's down to who builds the engine

You can have a block etc done top spec but have an idiot put it together and will be crap performance or machines good built good and will be good

IMO you have company's like
Bill Richards
Swiftune
Mini speed
Ac Dodd as said
Paul inch engineering
Med
Etc

I've used Southam Mini & Metro Centre for 2 engine rebuilds/tuning and can say they are excellent.

Are we talking tuners , meaning engine builders
Or company's that sell tuning parts.
or tuners , ones that work there magic and squeeze every little BHP out your engine

But
Harris Motorsport
Southam mini metro centre
Rob walker
Gerald dale motorsport

there are loads
Some of the good ones used work for Downton and osellis , like Richard longman, Rob walker.

Peter Baldwin is a great man, very good at his job. Tuning. and racing see him on youtube.

med build a great race engine.

Slark are excellent.

Bill richards does a fantastic job

swiftune

But if you want the best you pay the high prices.

Im sure there are lots of other quality engine tuners and builders out there who dont specialize in race/competition motors who do a great job and dont charge the high prices.

Only used Slark (amesbury, near Salisbury) and he is superb. He completely transformed my mainstream cooper, squeezing 78.4 bhp out of a standard (83k on clock) 1275 with stock cam, stage 3 head and cooper free flow.

I'd be interested in the views of people who have used several tuners and can give comparisons.

Where is best in the north west? Don't fancy paying more postage for the engine than the actual tuning!
