I have a smiths RVC as well and its jumpy on electronic its due to the age of the electrical components on the board, speedy cables can repair them, but I put a Tim 80mm in mine as a replacement £40
ok i might have to do that then, i dont think mines that accurate with the points system anyway, we just found that there was no main ground for the engine so thats probably why the electronic ignition didnt work so weve just fitted one and were going to see whether it works with the old points system and if it does then were going to stick the electronic ignition in
