I had a set of the white wall tyre trims. They are made of soft rubber.
you deflate the tyre and tuck the trim into the rim. You have to be very careful to centralise the trim or it will warp upon inflating the tyre.
I wouldn't recommend them because with all the twisting, turning and rubbing that a tyre does, the whitewall soon tears and chunks fall off! Waste of money really.

hi craig i have contacted mr white wall tyres and he said your new tyres need to be drove on for 3000 miles. but its quit expensive to have them painted? but you can pay for the white walls but they reck your tyres so many have said it. so it seems to me to have them painted? i dont no what to do? is there no way of putting dabs of clear silicon behind the rubber white walls to stop them digging in? thanks tom

the only issue with the paint you can buy is that after a year or so it goes from

to

But it is a lot cheaper and you can do it to your own spec. The 3000 mile is to get enough heat cycles through the tyres to stop the oils coming out and making the white mucky, but if you are doing your own, then another coat of paint will do :)
