Good stuff, My first thing is, make it so its as low as possible, may sound ridiculous, but when using a creeper you do go up a bit, loosing space to undo those fiddly bolts!

Add some small side trays for tools and parts!

Also, make the wheels lockable so I can use it too :P

So here goes
I designed this in nov/dec and started manufacturing after Christmas. this is my progress so far,

A bit of background about the design and what to expect, the design in going to be foldable, so both a sitting and lying position are available, other features will include a tool tray and a heynes manual holder! so i can use both hands when fiddling with my mini, which will one day have a project thread in the mini section i hope!

To start with I cut 25mm squared steel tubing to the lengths I calculated (it took a while to get the right angles and heights)

Then I put it in a frame and tig welded it together

and drilled holes for the hinge mechanism
Posted Image
Posted Image

I then cut and welded on the sides of the hinge

Checked the alinement's
Posted Image

and checked it folded to 45 degrees

And it could support my weight in the sitting pos

Yep it may look like its going to be quite heigh, but with the wheels i intend to use (30mm high ball rollers) it shouldn't be more than 100mm tall padding included!

I started to do this as my A2 design project, foolishly I changed my mine and did a boot board kit.

I had the idea of fitting a row of high power LED lights along it too illuminate while working without torches.
