Is there measurable improvement between the S air box pictured below and a standard one?
I don't fancy drilling holes in mine as I hate the look and I fell out with my chrome K&N ages ago when it ruined my running! lol
Thanks :)

I dunno about improvement, but where did you get it, as iv been looking for one :)
If you were or are local to me, we could do a test with my modded one (with holes and inner bit taken out with K&N)

It was the addition of this airbox and a new exhaust manifold that brought power up from 85 bhp on the previous kit to 90 bhp. Personally I would not alter it.

If anyone has any specific data, that would be amazing because its one of those questions I have often thought about.

We are in the injection section... no needles to change on an MPi...Did you change the needle when you put the K&N on to match the fuel to the air.

I havnt actually got hold of one but, looking at the photo I posted. It's not impossible to make a similar intake tube by cutting an original one in half. As I've never seen an Si box for sale before :/
I was sceptical it would add anything from my experience with K&Ns.
I might try lopping the end off a standard box and see what happens. There's defintely more of them about!

Nevermind. This should work for illustration purposes. Found online.
