Seeing as my current bike "Puch Maxi" is a bit too slow for where I live, I decided to search for a more powerful bike but still with character, I found some parts for sale, so I set off on a 3 hour drive to fetch the parts, got everything home and loosely built the bike...

Here's some pictures...
In need of a complete new wiring loom ideally, I've been given some contacts as to where to get one so it's all good.

Love Mz s had a 251 saxon tough as old boots ! stylish in a strange way. Like the red line on the rev counter, 3000rpm bad 7000rpm good ! lol
Used to buy bits from Wilf Green not sure if he still deals or not (think he was biggest Mz dealer in england )

Haha, I think the 3000-7000rpm is the power band!!

Can't wait to get it going to be honest, really worried about the wiring loom if I can't manage to find a complete one.

Cheers guys, found a german website that has a wiring harness, thank god for that!

Needs a new air filter, (got 3 side panels with filter included, all of them fubar)

cover and lock on the sidepanel, can't find any on eBay so managed to find one on another german website!

Update
I've built the engine back, managed to find a good piston from all the parts I was given (see photos below) put it on, new small end bearing, nice compression, so all is good. Kick start misses slightly, but I'll see what it's like when it's on the road.
Ordered a new wiring loom, and rev counter drive shaft, bush and o-ring.

Yep! I was quite suprised at the amount of stuff he was given away with the bike, I've got 2 frames with forks and tanks behind the engine bits.

I want this wiring loom to arrive asap....not really sure what else I can do with it for the moment, I did clean the carb, not much to report there... was thinking about a colour change, but I think black is good so it's staying.

Another update

Spent the most of today putting little bits and bobs on, I tidied the rear mudguard and fitted the numberplate (legalities of a pressed plate?) and the rear indicators, clutch and brake levers, choke lever.

I noticed that the 250 my dads working on has a tapped hole on the handlebars and I was confused why mine didn't have one, on fitting the clutch lever I looked underneath and found the hole.....handlebars were on the wrong side! so i flipped them and fitted the choke lever.

also saw that I had no stems for the front indicators, quick google search, £8.50 each!!!!! ordered two of them and a new air filter...

Later on I fitted the engine. Nice and easy fit.
Getting close now, all I need is to sort out which of the 20 million coils I have which is best...anyway to find out? and the regulator and fuse boxes, also need to order some fuses, their called continental fuses I believe?

Looking good, keep the plate will be original to bike, saw the burwins logo, and rembered thats where i bought a stainless steel down pipe ( not wilf green )
Burwins still going would be a good starting point for info/spares.

Cheers Steven, my tachometer shaft, bush and o ring arrived today, will be fitting that in the next few days, waiting for my indicator stems, air filter and more importantly, wiring harness!
