I recently got a set of Mini Spares 10 inch Rose Petal wheels to replace my 5x10 Minilights.

The car is fitted with a Mini Spares 4 pot calliper on vented disc setup.

They don't fit. The top and bottom edge of the callipers contact the wheel. I need an additional 3-4 mm of clearance.

I was assured the would fit when I asked.

What do I do now?

a) fit a 5mm spacer?

b) grind some metal of the edges of the calliper untill I have enough clearance?

c) fit 3mm spacers and maybe grind the callipers oh so slightly?

i am sure i have read somewhere that you have to modify the caliper to run these without spacers. i think its what the pre-66 FIA appendix K racers have to do as sapcers are not allowed

if i were you i would spacer them and not touch the caliper, but if you cant wait, taking material off the caliper will not hurt. as long as it isnt masses.

My gf uses the miniSPORT 4pot calipers and has no Clearence issues
You have two options;
Grind the corner down on your new brakes
Or sell up and buy the miniSPORT ones

I would opt for skimming some metal off the caliper but only the minimum amount.

looking at the wheels fitted I would just add the required spacer as the wheel offset isnt much

I have 7.9" 4pot mini sport callipers and i had issues with putting them under 10's. I was told some would fit and others wouldn't. In the end I went for minators with no spacers and my 4pots and vented discs. Fit perfectly with no modification required :D
Shame though because I really wanted cosmics or mambas.

I had a set of original 10" minilites first to try and it only slightly touched. I tried several size spacers and none worked.
Personally if I was you I would grind the callipers down very slightly as that was what I was going to do :)

To fit Rosepetals you MUST use the correct spacer

I've got these wheels and they are supplied with hub centric spacers that are countersunk around where the stud comes out. They also come with two sets of studs, one longer than other if the spacer is not used. I run them with the spacer, and AP single piston calipers / 7.9" rotors. The balancing weights foul the calipers when balanced on the inside of the wheel.

I used the spacer that is supplied with the wheels, but it is not enough.

My 4pot callipers are about 10 years old, and a bit bigger than the current ones.

I will grind them and see how it goes.

Does anybody know if they fit over the genuine 'AP' 7.5" 2-pot calipers, without the need for spacers?

Mamba's are good wheel, however they are notorious for fitting issues and as far as I know will not fit over 7.9" disc brakes.

I found some time a popped to my garage. After close inspection I saw that the biggest problem by far was the calliper bleed nipple. After grinding away the top bit where one would fit a tube, The wheel fitted almost perfectly. With a little more grinding around the calliper edges the wheels are now fitted.

I'd love a garage that big!!!

Well done on fixing the problem though.
