I'm thinking about getting 10x7 split rims :w00t: but I'm getting confused, doesn't help that the force racing site is down although probably wouldn't of helped anyway.

I'm wanting wheels like these

I've been doing some searches on here and keep reading about using donor wheels and the guy at force racing being able to convert them to split rims, does he still do this? Can he convert any 10" wheel? I've never seen wheels like that before though does that mean I'll have to buy them and if it does where can I get them from?

Yeah I've got my eye on a set mini special rims but I don't like the look of them. Just looked at the mk2 biggles project and they look pretty good actually, if the ones I'm looking at stay cheap I might try and buy them but if he can convert other rims then great as there are quite a few 10 inch rim designs I like.

I'll wait and see if fastcarl sees this thread before I PM him.

Not sure how much this will help here and now since Carl is watching over but for the benefit of anyone who finds this thread through a search (yes, its true, we have a search facility!):

Its the Exaction/Mini Special rims that can be converted, the face is machined off, leaving 4" of the original wheel, then either a 1", 2" or 3" outer rim can be fitted to give the desired width.

Carl, you say your split rim 10" wheels fit over 8.4" brake calipers. Does that include metro 4 pots? Not too fussed if something like 2 mils have to be ground off them (no more!) but don't want to use spacers.

i dont know about the metro set up as i have only fitted them to the origional mini set.
if its vented metro ,deffo no, but old solid possibly, but i dont have a hub assy to trial fit.

regards carl.
