From what I've also heard on some of the bike forums is that it can also depend on how the engine was run-in from new.
heres a link to one of the best GSXR spec pages I found because it shows figures for all of the models - mine being a K4 2004
GSXR1000 SPECS
All I know is I've read up on the gixxer engine and the engineering and materials used on it is superb.
heres a link that shows a bit more info about the K4 engine

Once I've done it I'm going to keep it as a my weekend fun car. I would like to do a few track days in it so I can see what it can really do, because after all you build a car to drive it, not stand there lookin at it....wots the fun in that?!!

These all look like standard cars but all hide something special! Which is my aim with the MK1....I want it to look MK1 and original as possible but have that mental engine behind me. Only main give-away from far away will hopefully only be wide 13's on it.
Its still keeping original colour and having the wide group 2 arches with the chrome strip and wavy grill etc....
so if all goes well then it should look pretty good!
I know i'm not convincing the purists though LOL!

The only thing i've noticed about the engine is that the oil cooler will need to be relocated as I don't think there will be enough air flow or enough room with it tucked up behind the bulkhead. Haven't done anything to it yet as i've been doing the pickup but got a weeks holiday now so should get some work done.

Kit not quite ready yet but email him for details, he sells all fibre glass stuff to... half the price of anyone else because he makes his own
He's only just finished making the jigs for it so will still be a little while before he makes the first one. The first one is also spoken for

And if the mk1 is genuinely still on the road and you only paid £900 and its in reasonable nick id give you a grand if you wanted to make a profit without work

thanx for the offer but but I'm too committed to it now. I did start to wonder though why I was spending so much money when I could just buy a superbike for about £4500 and save myself loads of money.....but that aint as good as having a crazy mini!!
