Just a quick update- been busy sanding and coating the ash frame which is a long slow job.
I have just sold my 1991 Mini as my wife has been moved with work and needs a more reliable car as it is 3 times the distance than she has travelled in the Mini over the last 4 years.
So it is a sad time and it has gone to the first person who has viewed it which I am pleased. We have bought a 53 plate one owner full service history bright red Bini with 29,000 miles on the clock. I never thought I would see the day where my wife's Mini would go and I am a little bit sad as it has been a great car.
My wife Karen is now upset that other Bini drivers don't wave at her when they drive past and it does not make a "PARP PARP" when she puts her foot down infact the other day she thought the engine had cut out at a junction because there was not tapping noise.
Sad week but at least we still have the Mk1 Woody to look forward to.

The new Mini is a very good little car. We have a 2005 with 190,000 miles and it's still running strong. Our only failure was the manual transmission pinion bearing. So, change the oil in the trans if it hasn't been done as they say it's a lifetime fill but do not believe it!!!

That ash frame must be looking good. Can't wait to see it all together on the car.

A couple of photos of the trial fit of the ash frame, took a bit of adjustment to fit but I am very happy with the final fit.

Just an update in case you all thought I have been sitting doing nowt, I have got the engine ready which has has a re-bore to +60 thow and new pistons, a reground crank to +10 and a set of hardened valve seats.
Any help on anything that is wrong for a 1963/1964 woody will be helpful as there were a load of parts missing from the motor.

Coming along beautifully!
Where did you source your Ash frame out of interest, it looks great with all that fine sanding between coats of varnish.
