There are so many 'standard' 1275 camshafts..

How about a standard A series 1275gt camshaft as a comparison... I just want to know how it fares as I've heard people saying good things abt the 1098 cams

How about you send me your 1098 cam, I'll measure it then be able to exactly compare what you have to any other cam I have figures for?

Bit tricky since he is in Malaysia..... The 'original' 1275 cam was same timing and lift as a 1098 cam (AEA 300) but had 1/2" wide lobes rather than 3/8" wide lobes. As above - there are several 1275 cams - so hard to compare unless you have a particular one in mind. But the only really useful one will be an MG Metro cam.......

Need the verify split overlap lift. If it is 0.040" then it is the same cam as the stock 1275 gt item.

i get what you're saying guys.. cause when i fitted my 1098 cam into my 998.. we used a vernier caliper and the 1098 cam had higher peaks than the 1275 camshaft.. i think the 1275 camshaft was an old 1275gt block.. let me see if i have some pictures of the cams...

Two raised rings and a 3/8" lobe indicate it is the same cam as an Auto Mini, 1100 Mk2 Sprite or a Mk1 Midget - 230/252 in/ex with .250 lift at the lobe.
Three raised rings might be a 731, though I think they were also used on a later cam in a different position, possibly an early MG Metro.
