You want overkill? 096 is probably the largest that you can fit in the mini battery tray and it's a really tight squeeze.

Roughly the same price as any other size.

i have had 2 halfords batteries (one for the mini and one for my midget), both failed within a year. They did replace them, but had nothing but trouble with them. Ended up buying a Bosch S5 battery (063 or 096) on my halfords trade card (ended up being about £60 down from £120). Have never had a problem since fitting it (3 years ago)

Just to add if you buy from Halfords and want the 3 year guarantee to be valid, you must buy a battery that has been recommended for your car by them, even if you know better. I know someone who wanted a battery that wasn't recommended for his car, but was in fact perfectly fine and they actually refused to sell it to him.

That has not been true for me. I have a trade account and never ask for a battery for....... I ask for a ...... Battery, so they never know the fitment and have never asked. I have taken two back and both were changed without question after a simple (and mostly pointless) check. One was a month old, one over two years.

Might just be a jobsworth in that particular store then. I do have personal experience of a dozy git working at that branch, it just seemed liked he couldn't be arsed looking for what we wanted.

Must admit I was never asked the what car it was for either when I bought battery from my local branch (different one to the above).

More than likely, one guy at my local branch refuses to give trade prices over the phone and ALWAYS asks for my card before he will tell me a price even though I have had the trade account for 4 years and use it regularly with him. I ring the Derby branch because they just tell me straight out what the cost is. Like anywhere, one jobs worth bozo can stuff it up.

Costco Bosch batteries are quite cheap.....

i would get the largest that fits in the space, just take a ruler and check. (and the + and - are going to fit right way)

i use 065
