A race, rally and track day type build section would be pretty cool
Isn't that what the motorsport section is for?
Anyway i keep checking the project section to see wheather it's changed already

It has indeed. I'm in the process of moving as many relevant threads as I can.
I've also setup the tagging system for use in the projects forums now too.

I've moved what I can easily pull out with a search. Sadly I can't search "Van" so if you find any Van projects in Mini Saloons, please PM me and I'll move it them

Well there's no race or track builds in there because its not in the projects section, any race or rally builds are just jumbled up within the normal projects section.

Thumbs up to this, great idea 
, Their are a few Mini related projects in the Other Projects section would it make sense if they were also moved in to the Mini saloon Project section. make the Other projects section a bit more tidy. so that the mini blogs will be in the right place too? If so could you possibly move mine ?

What is this tagging system you speak of?
When you create a new topic in a section with tagging enabled you can select from some common pre-defined tags which make it easier for people to find your thread or view similar threads.
