On the 1310 'S' with twin H4's I use a pair of K & N filters with the K & N stub stacks. The finish on the stubs was not perfect so I've polished them and matched them to the carb inlet aperture and they have always been fine. They don't make much difference when the power & torque is measured and the benefit is probably best at over 6000 rpm. They might help right at the bottom end when running a high-overlap cam like a 286 or hotter.
