The light tanned wood colour would contrast well with your white mini.

wooden slats i will do my self and ile get it painted/powdercoated white then just need the frame to be made and also nice and strong so it carries suitcases spare wheels bits and bobs for when i travel. yes would like to clamp it to the gutter edge will get some wing bolts or something to clamp it.not to botherd about curving around the roof straight would be fine and easier for you? i take it you are up for it then? lol
Ofcourse my middle name is "challenge accepted" kinda dont have the room yet or money for raw materials as i need to be cracking on with mine

would want the slats front to back but ile do this like. when ever you got time pm me can send money over for materials if you like or just give me a price at the end. lets get the rear light sorted first lolWould you prefer the slats to go side to side or front to back ?

Just wanted to know which way the slats were going so i know which way to weld the "load bed" support is i.e as the slats will be front to back i'll do two in a side to side manner.
Hmm i guess we'll just have to decide weather it looks good or not are selfs then, seeing as no one has a opinion (over 200 view now

Tom, I know someone with a classic desmo roof rack on his mini that is sitting on it doing nothing. It doesn't have wooden slats, but I've seen the same rack at shows with slats been added to it. I can find out about it if you want? Although iirc I think one of the lower bars is bent from having something heavy on it. I'm sure it'll straighten out easy enough though.

Would it not make sense to just buy a roof rack? They're not that expensive when they pop up for sale.
