and so the repair carries on, found a hole underneath some tar-ish paint in the OS arch,just were the side valance and arch extension meets, same on the NS, so start again;

cut out rot and cleaned "paint" away;

made a template from the hole and side valance and shaped the new steel to position, so many light corners in that piece;

after a lot of fettling, drilled holes for plug welds, and treated the back of the panel with Por15, and the inside of the floor beam, welded the lot and sanded it back, ready for seam sealer and paint;

scraped all the tar-ish paint of the arch and clean it with paraffin at some time before paint get's near it, this will be after the other side of the arch has been done including the bottom quarter repair :goaway:

Today OS heal board repair done, and dropped the outer sill, glad I did, few pin holes near companion bin and large holes near the cross-member end other than that the inner-sill and floors are sound.

pinholes;

Attached File  OS outer sill repair 1.jpg   107.28K   10 downloads

Cross-member holes cut out;

cut out rot, replaced and Por15 coat;

Made repair piece for cross-member holes,

dropped tools and went to see "fast and furious 6"

welding  on Huy'e is coming to the end,.........might trow in a roll-cage though.... ;D
