Short update.....all good sofar except, the carb.....I need a BDL needle as the BER needle is far to lean for the big valve MG head, gasping for juice under load...but the rest, done waxing him dinitroll will be on Sunday, but even managed to fit a rover stereo from 1992 with 4 speakers for the less noisy trips ahead...

 

BDL needle and bits arrived yesterday, installed and breather hoses connected to the Hif44 so this afternoon we will see what he says,....fingers crossed he talks to me all the way under load.......

Cranked up the engine this afternoon, set timing at 12BTDC,  idle at 1000rev, and 3.7Co, ticking over sweet with the new needle, what a difference, and no juddering or backfiring  under load. Now waiting for DVLA.....

After a lot of faffing about with timing and tuning, I came to the conclusion that my Dizzy 59D is absolute pants.....so I spoke to Simonbbc at powerspark the last few days and he sold me this package which will suit the beast...

on the DVLA note, they send me back the sales receipt of the new engine, the one I refurbed, on it's own and if all is well they send me the new V5 form this week,...finally MOT time soon

This afternoon I booked him in for an MOT on Wednesday morning, however as the weather is turning for the worse on Wednesday,....who cares... I drove Huy'e for the first time to my mates Micky Slater's garage, 1.5 miles in the dark,with lights of course, he pulls good in first and second, even my son who was driving behind me just in case said,.... feck me he pulls away fast.....but a bit slow in third and forth,then again the engine was not even warm yet.....

So at the crack of dawn I will be back at 'the garage' for a few adjustments and he will have his MOT 1 day early!!!

Can I sleep tonight.........

Cheers Shifty, will see, Mr Slater mentioned FOG light 5 times(takin the P) as we were testing the lights,.......I did say' its an '78 car, any cars from '82 needed to put one on when it became compulsory in '86 I believe
