They were all really rusty so it isn't too bad. The thing that annoyed me was that two weeks later when I went back round they had emptied the yard of all cars. If I had of know that I would have offered them £100 for the two (the third was taken by the yard's owner's son). I could have sold most of the parts off and made a few bob. Would have also got a 1275 engine as well.
The owner did say it was a shame that they were being scrapped. He said usually when classic cars come in they sell them as a complete vehicle no matter what the condition as people will use them as parts cars atleast. They had to scrap the mini's due to the way they were obtained. Something to do with a deceased person owing large sums of money and their property becoming that of the states.
Its a shame but unfortunately all good things must come to an end.

I've always thought of this
Wonder how many were scrapped needlessly in the scrappage scheme a few years ago ???
Brace yourself...
Not a Mini I know, but I know at the local Holdcroft dealership, an old bloke traded in a 1 owner from new, FSH, White, 12,000 mile Mk1 Golf GTI Campaign Edition for a Nissan Micra

I nearly cried when I was told. Apparently the salesman was pleading with him not to trade it in, but he couldn't change his mind

Yeah, silly. But then if it was an old fogy then I suppose he wouldn't of seen the golf like we do... Not because of his eye sight LOL. You know how I mean

did someone actually remove the A-panel from the mini in the last pic ?????.
Might be an abandoned restoration, or ripped off to get access to the door hinges. Either way I bet they wish they had that pile of Minis in their yard now!
