My Clutch is slipping in fourth gear, So I want to get it replaced.

Does anyone know roughly how much this sort of job would cost? (inc Labour)

My Mini is a 1983 Austin Mini 998 (verto Clutch)

Thanks
Alex

The book time on changing the drive plate is 2.5 hours, so factor in 2.5 x an hourly rate + parts...

Eg me doing it...

2.5 * 35 = 87.50
+
drive plate = 27.19 or clutch kit = 83.35

Then add the VAT and you have your total.

Budget for around £200 unless the flywheel is on very firmly, in which case who knows.

Yes we do but my mini is used daily and our other mini has been sent off to the bodywork repairers. So no I don't have the time so its better that its fixed with a garage.

You shouldn't need a full clutch kit, just the centre plate at between £20 and £30 (depending on whether it's Verto or pre-Verto. It is also wise to change the primary gear seal (the 'red' seal) and you also need a flywheel lock tab or flywheel bolt with combined tab if it's a Verto. You might find it sensible to fit a new RH engine mounting whilst the clutch cover is off.
As for time, an experienced Mini person should be able to do the job in 2.5 to 3 hours, whilst an ordinary garage technician might take 4 hours or more.
