Hello I haven't sprayed a car before but want to give it a go.
But I don't know what exactly I need.
Main questions I have.
What gun?
What compressor?
Where can i get paint from , how much do I need? And what sort eg.. Thinners, hardeners, paint etc..
If it matter I'm looking at either Yukon grey, Porsche Powder blue or old English white
And if you have any tips that would be great
Thanks guys

Hi mate. I was in your position 18 months ago and after reading up on the link death row has posted plus lots of others which included rollering the paint on I took the plunge. I got a £120 compressor (michelin) that came with a spray gun tyre inflator etc. I then went to a paint shop I know of in bradford and gave him the paint codes. I got 4L of yukon grey and 1L of black for the roof and lots of thinners.
Painting was an experience and a half. Just dont try and put on too much at once. Play around with the gun to see what spray pattern you are happy with and then once you are happy, point it at the car! I think I put on 3 to 4 coats at 50:50 then a 60:40 then 70:30 thinners to paint coats. I waited about 25 mins between the 50:50 coats then let them dry over a few days before the thinner coats.
Flatting is ok if you dont get carried away and press down too hard. Nice and steady and have lots if kitchen roll to wipe away the excess water and to see how good it looks. Finally use the farecla g3 compound for buffing up. The finish kicks the arse out of the halfords g3 crap!
Good luck fella.
