Cheers Keith, I could of been left with nothing but an unusable engine so im thinking myself lucky to get the £1870 back,
I just hope no other members get stung by this seller as its been quite a stressful few days and nights not knowing what the outcome was going to be.

Here's some pics, shame I didn't get some of the pistons as they were second hand with valve marks and chunks missing where it had been detonating!

It was supposed to have a modified big valve head, instead it had a seriously rusty unmodified small valve

Uprated valve springs?

Posted Image

Didn't even change the water pump

Posted Image

Lightened flywheel?!

Posted Image

New HIF44 and inlet, the HIF is the only one I've seen with play in the spindle. Obviously the seller didn't intend Lee to use the water heating!

Essentially this was a second hand engine with a lick of paint and a shiny rocker cover, it hadn't even been re-bored

Surely you get to keep the roller rockers as you've paid for them ?

Yes mate that's true i have the roller rockers here as i lost my paypal claim for them i wasn't going to send them back with the engine.

Thankyou for posting those pics Luke they give other members an idea of the state this "new and unused from new" engine was in when i received it ;-)

Put a note about this seller in here for the future reference of other members

what you should do now is post on the forum looking for reputable engine builders, there are some out there, fear not.

All his feedback is from sellers not buyers. How ironic !

If you can, leave him negative feedback.

with your money. you could have that block rebored with new pistons. crank regrind with new bearings and thrusts. make a better job of it and cost less.

changing inlet manifold etc can be done fairly cheap.

a donor 1275 in unknown condition is 200+ on ebay these days.
