i had to do a corner repair before. I used the same corner of another Mini to shape the metal around. Dont hit the metal with it on the roof, shape with your hands and some tin snips.
You could do this with the corner of your roof as long as there aren't huge holes. keep bending and shaping until nearly right, then scribe around it, cut it out, weld it in, skim of filler, sorted.
