We went out for a a short run tonight (as the tax runs out today) to check how well the new needle was performing, It was pulling up the hills no problem. We came home and adjusted the carb a tad and went out for a run down the bypass which we managed to get it up to 75mph (If the clocks correct) on the flat then it was vibrating to much due to the wheels not being balanced, it was still pulling well at 75pmph . We'll have to sorn it to get it ready for the MOT.
I think we made need to invest in some earmuffs too .

I think she is a lot more responsive and controllable, Other than the floor I think it's pretty good. I think the indicators flash to fast too. Did you have any problems with the inside misting up?Sounds like she's going better then! Yeah minis aint quiet! I'm pretty sure the speedo is right the 30mph speed signs would flash just over 30 but then not at 30. She shouldn't need too much for MOT the advisories were small things.

And gave it a bit of a wire brush and found a few holes in the lip and one on the front just where the chrome lip goes.
I gave it a coat of kurust and hamerite temporarily until we take the lip off and weld it up.
you can just see the hole.
The wiring in the engine bay wasn't the best, some had be dangling and had hit the alternator blades. So Dad fixed that and tucked it away so it doesn't hit again.
Dad also made up a Maplin electronic ignition kit, Which can easily be changed if need be.
Also found some rust in the boot to
Cheers

The handbrake mount has snapped. So a bit more welding added to the "To Do" list to get ready for a MOT.
