Nice one Hun. Glad Lulu made it through.

Thanks Ellie,

Found a little problem today, I've been smelling a bit of fuel after I've driven it, but couldn't spot any fuel leaks, Got to work today and same again smelt of fuel, so open the bonnet to hear a tuszzz sound, turned out there was a leak on the carb which dripped onto the exhaust. So took the car off after work and found that the float chamber to valve pipe wasn't tight >_<. Tighten it back up, made new gaskets and started first time with no leaks ...

Done a couple of bits of lulu this weekend, took the exhaust off on thursday evening as it was blowing on the Y piece which I think was making it run badly at certain times. so took off the Y piece and chopped off the 2 bit's I previously make myself and bought some proper exhaust tube. Had to buy 2 meters though, you can see how much I used  (I do have a plan for it though for a new exhaust...). I slid the to new bits of pipe onto the manifold ends and tacked the Y piece onto them so they were exactly in the right place and fully welded it off the car. So refitted the rest of the exhaust and used some different clamps of the Y piece.

I also cut 2 slot in the ends with 2 hacksaw blades so it could clamp better.

On saturday I tightened up the fan belt, replaced the points and retimed it and done a compression test while the plugs were out, 195 on 1-3 and 185 on 4 so pretty good. Then took it out for a drive which it was bogging down a lot so leaned it out a few flats and it runs a lot better. It might be going on a rolling road shoot out/tune up soon so will see how well it's tuned.

Not much has been happening with the ritz lately just been driving it, back along we changed the discs and pads.

I had the smell of fuel coming from somewhere for a little while, so while greasing up the nipples I spotted a little drip on the fuel pipe coming from the tank.

So replaced the hose, Good job I still had 3/4 of a tank of fuel >_<

And finally my seat diaphragm decided to let go,leaving me sat on the floor and struggling to get out , So got home, took it out and fixed it within 20mins. I think it's firmer than before... 22/10/15

Well not much has happened to the ritz really just been driving it around without any problems. We replaced the rear window seal as that had been perished since we bought it :whistling: and rust was starting to form so had to rub that down and respray it.

This friday is the MOT so we decided to have a look at it today, checked all the bearings and joints etc. just need to check the lights in the week.

But we did find this

so had to raid my project parts for the goodridge hoses :ermm:

Bloody annoying as they aren't even 2 years old the rubber hoses  (June 2014)

The quality of all rubber products seems to be pretty poor, I've had rubber hosepipes on my MPI that are 2 years old frey like yours!

Well after over 3 year of daily driving in the ritz and ash lulu85ritz (previous owner) doing the same, it took it's toll on it. So it's currently off the road unfortunately (replaced with an MPI ). The mot run out in may and just before that we drove up to brook lands mini day in it, I sort of figured there would be a bit of rust so the plan was to have a good weekend on it ready for the MOT . Dad pulled the petrol tank out expecting a little hole but was greeted with a fair amount around the subframe mount and everywhere else >_<. so this is currently how she stands.

A fair amount of filler on most panels, The rear valance was just tacked on along the edge of the lip which made it easy to take off, the passengers rear arch was double layered so ended up removing them, the rear of the boot floor was pretty rusty so removed that, the boot hinge panel is a too far gone swell but will leave that till the boot floors welded in. both 1/4 panels are being replaced as they are full of filler. The heelboard where the rear subby mounts had thick plates welded on top of the original but upon removal of the passengers it turned out to be mostly solid.

we've welded in a patch to the passengers rear seat area and are sorting out the heelboard at the moment.
