Wow you have done a lot to her of late great work! I was 2 cars behind you yesterday on my way back from McDonalds was nice to see her driving.

cheers mate.

Last weekend we stuck the vynl door covers to the plastic backings that I cut out (page 9).

Then on saturday we went to a local steam rally where the mini got a bit muddy and found this on the windscreen >_<

and yesterday we went leak finding again as when I washed it there was some water coming in. I thought it was the door check strap but was still coming in, so sealed up the bottom of the a-panel and doorstep but it still comes in :mmkay:

Cheers

After driving around with just 2 caps on for a while, I fixed the other two hubcaps by using cable trunking cuting and bending and glueing. one cap was an original with 2 tabs remaining and the other the one below, it needed a bit more bending than in the pics to stop it moving but they're quite hard to get off now

I made a boot board to out of the corrugated plastic, just needs to have a bit of carpet put on it.

on Thursday I removed the sealed beam headlights, wireing and metal bowls, 1. because the sealed beams aren't as good as the halogen and 2. the metal bowls were a bit rusty. I knew they were rusty when I took them off for welding the front, so have improvised for a while using some sealent and a bit of plastic :genius:

DSCF0579_zps1ffb32bd.jpg

the rubber bits for adjusting screws had perished and broken, I had to fix them, I had some spare rubbers that had perished and cracked on the ring so cut it up and stuck them onto the original ones.

DSCF0564_zps10953b93.jpg

DSCF0565_zps01b86ea0.jpg

soldered the side lights on (rather than using a block connector and twisting one of the wires together like the previous owner of the the lights did >_< )

DSCF0567_zps99afae0b.jpg

And all back together with plastic headlamp bowls, I did have a problem fitting a headlamp ring but a bit of cutting solved that :whistling:

DSCF0568_zps24234d06.jpg

I much prefer the yellow lucas covers but since it's starting to get dark I thought it'd be better to be able to see

Last weekend we done a couple of bits to Lulu, First off I replaced the waterpump.

DSCF0599_zpsc2943634.jpg

Then we replaced the Side window rubber as we had put sealent around it to stop the water coming in, this is what we found when we cut the old rubber off, which was hard and perished.

DSCF0598_zps1232ce39.jpg

So gave that a good wire brush and a couple of other areas and painted it, Then after fitting the rubber 3 times in different orientations, we put some string in the rubber and refitted the window.

DSCF0600_zps58b577a3.jpg

Then I fitted the seats that I bought for my project mini as we're going to castle combe next saturday,  here alot more confy but slightly higher and further fowards so you're not in such a good driving postition

DSCF0601_zps1c17b557.jpg

We also found what we think is where the water is coming in, just on the top of the a-panel, so took off the arch and seam strip to which we found a bit of rust, sealed the hole and painted the seams, just need to lacquer the seam strip and refit it.

And yesterday I replaced the teardrop mount again as it had split again, had to make a washer to fit between the subframe and mount so hopefully it wont split again.

Cheers.

I found out today I had a faulty brake light so this evening we went fault finding, tested the fuse all fine, took off the wires for the brake light switch and joined them together and the brakes lights come on, so cleaned the terminals and they work again

Theres not that much that has happened to the ritz lately, We went to a meet at capt'n jaspers in plymouth, all went well ... on the way.

DSCF0663_zps7c344d89.jpg

DSCF0662_zpsb3309295.jpg

On the way back when driving around with a few others it died >_<  We managed to get it going after about 15 minutes by removing the electronic ignition, When we got home we found a fried transistor so stuck another one on as it's a kit from maplin.

And today I changed over the radiator (stolen from the sprite) and bottom hose as the other had a small leak. I've got to fit new front and rear screen rubbers as the front leaking, I'm going to replace the screen to as this one has a chip on it.

Spent most of the weekend on the ritz doing a few jobs. First up was replacing the windscreen, It was leaking in a corner and there was a bit of rust.

Popped it out on thursday night. Much more fun driving without a windscreen

DSCF0834_zpsdotl1g5r.jpg

bit more rust than I thought, so chopped out the lips and welded new back on.

DSCF0835_zpszm2jkqfh.jpg

DSCF0836_zps4gronnhk.jpg

Rubbed down and rust treated it then primed it. Done both sides as the other side was a bit rusty.

DSCF0839_zps3puhd8k4.jpg

Then rubbed it down some more and sprayed it with the rover siver leaf rattle can which turned out pretty good. With help from dad last night we managed to get it fitted it again, we used tyre lube to fit the seam locking strip which made the job alot easier.

DSCF0842_zpspvwe0cp9.jpg

DSCF0843_zps4v4lrccz.jpg

A while back we made our own tool out of an old screw driver cut down, a round bit of steel drilled to the size of the screwdriver shaft welded to it, a bit of bent wire and a grub screw to hold the wire. oh and a bit of heat shrink.

DSCF0845_zpsyujsi6ku.jpg

While the paint was drying I drained the coolant as the stuff I had in it was wrong. so Flushed it through and refilled with the blue stuff. Fitted proper weather shield brackets (thanks to megamini_jb for the clip).

DSCF0844_zpsvltstguf.jpg

I also replaced the door rubbers and repainted the wiper arms as there was a chip (paint ;D) on one.

Not much has been happening to the ritz lately, Gave it a check over last sunday, greased the nipples etc. I resealed the exhuast where it goes from 2 into 1 as it was blowing a bit and turned the clamps 90 degrees so they don't catch on speedbumps again. Then yesterday was MOT day, had to fix the fog light as the connections were dirty, so with that all done it was ready.

And she passed :gimme: with 5 advisories  :highfive:
