^ This is true ^
I remember the bad winter 2 years ago and with 6x10s (165 tyres) on it was sliding around just as much as other cars, and I couldn't get up a hill from being stopped whereas a Peugeot 206 in front of me could. The handling was fine, it's a mini so obviously it's going to be fun to throw around and easy to control because it's light, so it's alright once it's moving.
However this year with the 3.5x10 steelies (145 tyres) it's SO much better it's unbelievable, the road holding in fresh snow is vastly improved and inspires much more confidence. Granted this may mean you do silly things like go 60 in the untouched, snow covered fast lane of a dual carriageway because you're bored of waiting behind sensible people driving at 30 in the slushy lane... but who would do a thing like that anyway...
