So first off we drained the oil out and bloody hell it was thick like tar. Due to the car not being on the road since '88 a lot of the bolts and what not were stuck fast!
The front end is going to need to be fully replaced inner, outer and front end is just past saving.
Below is a few pictures of what I have found since starting the strip down.
Also could someone please tell me what mark of mini this is please. It's a '78 on an S plate.

Are these over sills?

Big hole there!

Drivers side floor has new panel welded over old floor. Brilliant!

The rust was literally falling off the front end!

So not need to get a ball joint splitter and the tool to remove the driveshafts from the hubs as what the Haynes manual was saying was next. So the car is left sitting on axel stands this morning
Thoughts welcome once again.

They look like 6" sills to me. Fair play there's a lot of rust to deal with but nothing that cannot be sorted by nice shiny new panels. Are you going to buy Heritage??
Yea I will be where possible. Piece by piece.

only just see that after looking at the photo for the second timeLaughing at dog in the sill picture with a bowl? In its mouth. It looks like its saying "feed me, and stop taking pictures of this rusty car!"

Wow deja vu! Love this car! Its just like mine but the much cooler 1275gt version. :) In a similar state to mine when I started too. Good luck!
looks sweet, It might be a bit off but what colour are you going for? if you don't mind me asking
Rich I have read through yours and looking good! I've got plenty of time to do it.
Tom I will be keeping the same colour at this point in time nice and original

So this is the where I'm at now.

Also though would have a laugh and polish one part of the roof and was very surprised that it actually came up pretty good.

Once again thoughts and comments welcome.
