Welding in that section should be quite straight forward once cut out.  Your welding is more than up to the job,  the only hard bit is hiding the joins at the top and bottom,  but a skim of filler will help there.  I take it you will just be plug welding along the seam ??

I've just read this from start to finish. What an epic rebuild in what I can only describe as harsh conditions under a tarp in British weather.

You had guts from the start buying the thing because you never know what nasties are awaiting under a body kit. Sterling effort mate I'm now subscribed

Progress at last lol some good some not so good lol

First up my panel arrived eventually lol

IMAG0845_zps59e1cb01.jpg

Before I got started on that tho I had a go at some fabricating lol. The result surprised me lol

Still one to do but won't take long

Now onto the rear quarter ha ha

Started to cut out what I wanted to replace

IMAG0844_zps6ae932b3.jpg

Then disaster. I'm sure I'm not the only one that hates when your cutting disk spins up a very large puff of white dust while cutting. Yup filler great I thought what's this hiding. The result

IMAG0846_zps47cd5c50.jpg

Ouch but but the depression was sort lived as I remembered I have a full quarter to play with so this happened

Nice one Hoodster ;)

But one question arises, why didn't you just replace the hole side and got a nice straight panel without the lower section repair?
