or the friction will heat up the rivet and melt your arch (if you intend to refitt it )
Been there done that! A brand new metal drill bit (nice sharp one, not those cheapo ones that break after 1 use) and a slow speed will cut the rivet out nicely, but I always use bolts or screws where possible for arches.

I'm not refitting these arches, I'll be putting the group 5's on with nuts and bolts, but I may have to use rivets at the back..?

thaught of asking someone that can weld and to just fix the muts on the other side of the holes so when you need to take the arch off the nuts stay where they are and you just unbolt it, works like the self tap screws?!

yes you will haver to move the tank but it will all be worth that extra work at the end of they day it always is.

But on the sportspack arch the bolt is moulded into the arch so you have to turn to nut to tighten.

Could you tell me the difference between a rivnut and a rivet?
