Nice work! You began with far more to do on yours than mine but I get a feeling you'll overtake me soon - must get cracking!

I may be starting a new contract in the next few weeks so that will give you a chance to catch up.

What have you got to do on yours?

Boot floor, nearside rear quarter, flitch panels both sides, front floors, toeboards, inner and outer sills, inner wings, and a small repair to the windscreen frame. I wouldn't be surprised if a few nasties are found in the scuttle and dash top rail too.

I'm cheating though, Scott (CHUNKY365 on here) is doing all of the hard work for me as I don't know one end of a welder from another. I'll just be doing the dressing it up again afterwards. So if I do finish first, you'll still get the award for effort!

It sounds like it is not much different to mine. When is Scott expected to finish it?

Have you started a restoration thread?

No thread yet, I'm going to start removing what I can from the car next week but leaving it driveable for the trip down to Scott's. There's no eta on when it'll be finished, but I'd like to think I could make it to one of the later shows this year - I'm not setting any real time limits though as I want it to be just right.

I must get the camera out at the weekend, if you saw my car parked on the street you'd think it was mint as the exterior is spot on. Unfortunately, the previous owner seems to have slapped on a load of nice new panels over the rot underneath.

LOL mine is just all rot. By the time I am finished it should be almost new.

I am cutting out the passenger rear wheel arch at the moment, I have 2 Heritage ones to go in.
It is by far the bit I am dreading as there are so many spot welds to drill out. Hope yours are not like mine.

Well the passenger side rear wheel arch is out. There were a lot of spot welds holding this in.
It came away from the floor pretty easily as about half the spots had missed the boot floor flange!

The outer wheel arch/rear 1/4 flange is now damaged so I have ordered 2 Magnum rear 1/4 panels which is going to be a lot quicker than trying to repair this one. It will also make removing the other side a lot easier as I will slice through the middle of the 1/4 rather than drill out all those spots.

I need to repair the boot floor and then I have 2 Heritage wheel arches to go in and the sill stiffeners.

Well the passenger rear wheel arch is tacked in. I need to put a few more welds in but its in.
I am really impressed with the fit of these Heritage wheel arches I don't know what other makes are like but these fit well.

I have not done much on the RSP in the last month as work is getting in the way. I really need to make some time.
Anyway here;s a pic of where it is at the moment.

What do you think; is it mean to chop up my kids toys and stick a dipstick up its bum?

That depends - is it just for pleasure or to use on your car?

Well I'm not sure? The wife did say last night "I thought when you bought it it was going to be for me? So why would I want that on my dipstick?"
I reassured her it was her car when its finished. I already have the +2 if I keep the RSP then I can't buy another car. Not sure what to get next but I have lots of time to think about it. I like the Viva my sister had for her first car 20 years ago or maybe a Fiat 500 or maybe an Imp?

I don't mind the Imp. My Grandad had one before I was born, he always used to tell me of how he had Bricks in the front arches to stop it rolling over!

But then again, he had a lot of wonderful car's that I'd love. A Datsun Bluebird 510. A 120Y another one i'd like to have! Morris Minor Traveller, Ford Zepher.

LOL yes I know a few that had a bag of builders sand in the front. When I started to drive everyone had a Mini, Imp or Mk2 Escort.

Got to convince the wife I need to extend the garage rather than the kitchen first.
