Good luck from a fellow Essex RSP owner! Mine doesn't know it yet sitting happily in the garage but it's about to be stripped down too.
I am near Colchester; where are you?
When I get to the reassemble I may need to look where everything goes as I did not take it apart.

Not far away at all, I'm over near Braintree. If you do want to have a look at anything you're more than welcome although having seen a few of your posts I get a feeling you're a bit more mechanically capable than me - I'm learning though.

You are just around the corner. I am a long way from finishing but will defo need your help later on.
I met a guy at the Marks Tey Mini show with a MINT red RSP who is in Feering but did not get his name or number.
I can fix most things on a Mini and my garage is pretty well equipped if you need anything let me know.

Thank you very much, and that red one looks fantastic!

Oooh I love reading about a good weld-a-thon. This is the reason why I've got a fibreglass car as I can't weld! Maybe I should get another project and learn...
Am only just down the road (and over the border) in Ipswich.
LOL I also have a plastic car but I am getting a bit bored by it.

Its a good place to start as I can play with the welder settings and no one will see it.
EDIT:
Just added a few more pics of the shock mount; as you can see the hole has now vanished and I have patched up the inner wing.

How non-existant was the shock mount?

Neater than my welding...
How non-existant was the shock mount?
Remember the flap wheel is your friend.
The actual mount bracket has a small hole so I ordered 2 new ones. They arrived after 2 days over Christmas so will use those guys again.

I think they're £6 a side, non-genuine.

The scuttle is the easy part as I will use my spot welder on that.
The A post is going to be tricky as I want the door gap to be spot on.
The inner wing came out ok though. I spent a long time on it but you cannot see the repair and the flitch panel is now welded to the inner wing properly now.
All progress is good.
