What roof rack have you used to flip your mini? I've been scanning ebay but worried about getting one strong enough.

Great work by the way

Thanks Jimmy

I bought my Thule roof rails from Halfords over 20 years ago so have used them lots over the years and still going strong. :)

Thanks. Thule look strongest but are also quite expensive, cheaper than a spit though. I'm sure a set will turn up close to me soon

Depends my spit only cost 70.00 notes for the steal and a few hours of my time to make definitely cheaper than a roof rack lol

Nice one, 70 quids not bad, but you haven't seen my welding ha ha. Picked up a thule roof rack up for £5.50 on ebay, although it's not as versatile as the spit. You'll have to make me one :D

Ha ha bargain roof rack then I would make them but they involve cutting a nice hole in the rear seat back and there not very transport friendly lol bit bulky unless you have a van lol

Hopefully it'll be upside down in a couple of weeks. Shells nearly stripped, and when braced me and r kid will have to get brave and flip it

I flipped mine on my own but it's easier if you have someone to catch it on the other side LOL

It's not that heavy but you don't want to drop it.

I nearly got squashed a couple of times; as it dropped on me it slid forward and I was trapped between another car in the garage.

A couple of ropes from the ceiling joists work well to help.

Still much easier if you can get help but I don't like the wife coming into my garage :)

Looks like I my need to update this thread soon :)

My wife's not allowed in my man cave ha ha,

I'll be turning mine in the garden, the roof rack will be braced with some 3x2 wood with casters on so it can be wheeled in and out of my garage to work on it.

Looking forward to your update then

Lockdown has put the house move on hold but has given me time in the garage.

A panels to go on this week and then finish stripping the old paint off and etch priming.
