Are you going to keep the driving position as-is? It looks kind of hard to get in around the steering wheel.

not sure i like how wide that mini is, i think i'm going to just open the body up over the floor, it doesn't need that much.
i'm going to sort out the driving position, by moving the floor behind the pedals farward, change the pedal box and move the steering wheel foward, and if i need too i can move the gear leaver foward about 5".

i'm leaving the mx5 sills in, as they sit inside of where the doors shut, so i'll have a little step inside of the door opening, but the standard mx5 sill are very strong, and i have got 45mmx 65mm box section welded under the door step, so i should be very strong in that area,

ive boxed off the sill on one side, and tidyed up any bits that i'd cut.
now i'm just on with repairing the door post, because if i leave it till the shell on it'll be a right pain!!
also i sorted how i'm going the weld the shell onto the floor,

Yeah me too, :-)
I,m just doing the repairs on the door pillers, so not much to see, but once thats done i can start welding the two parts together.
I was having a chat with a lad down the road from me who has a trackday mx5. That he has fitted a turbo too, 235BHP at the wheels its running! After i get mine running i'll be getting the same setup he has. No point going mey own way with a turbo setup if i can use the same base maps on the same ecu as him. Takes a lot of guess work out of it.
255BHP___700KG___LSD = :-):-):-)
Can't wait!!!

What size wheels are you planning on useing on it? Its all looking very good but I just think the wheels are too big. I know you wont be able to run 10s but maybe some 13's? Also what colour you thinking of doing it? A really retro 70's colour would look cool!

I,m going to be running 15x8 rota grid_v.
With the turbo planed for later in the build i,m going to need bigger brakes than i have now so i'll need to fit fifteens on.
As for colour i dont know yet. Ive not thought about it yet, or what arches i,m having on. all i know is it will be very low.:-)

Cool project hats off this is crazy

Thanks it will look a bit mad when its done.
