Amazing build. As an owner of both an mx5 and a mini I cannot believe I didnt think of doing this myself :P

Colour wise it has to be BMC Poo Brown..

Looking good, do you do your welding in a continuous line or in pulses?

I always pulse weld, i'll stitch a panel on and then weld differant areas at about 15mm at a time.
When i weld on a flat'ish panel i'll have a bucket and a rag with water to cool down the panel to stop any warping.

On a similar note; what do you use to grind your welds flush? I use a flap disc on the grinder but they never seem to be flush?

I use a sanding pad on a rubber backing plate, 36 grit worka a treat!

must be so nice to have such freedom to concoct and fabricate any fiendish plans you want!! envy is an understatement, I wouldn't mind having some welding skills like that as well to be honest ha ha

beautiful work . . . . will be meaty when finished!

keep it up (sure you need no encouragement though;)

Just so brackets to make for the front end.
