This may be an arbitrary question, but how does one go about removing the stone chip from the inner wheel arches? I have used a drill with a paint stripper piece on it, but that can only do so much as the space is naturally very tight. Thus far I have been using a paint scraper, being careful not to score the metal. What I wanted to know basically, is there a simpler way to do this?

You could just try paint stripper itself or use a twisted wire cup on a angle grinder.

Thanks for that, that might make my life easier. I'n only doing it because it's starting to peel and fall off from old age age.

If you could run to one of these that will strip all of that off and many other products. I used one on Project Erm to remove some paint and stonechip and it was awesome. Not cheap though.

That's a seriously nice bit of kit. I could have done with one of those over the past few months, but at $1,400 I doubt even Santa will be bringing me one :(

That looks like an intense machine, pity Santa doesn't quite venture into the mountains where I live.

There are several methods to removing this bitumen covering.
1:- Scraper and hammer, it will chip off quite easily.
2:- Scraper and heat gun. This will soften it enough to use a scraper to remove it.

Once you have got most of it off then use white spirit to remove the residue.

Hammer and scraper works well, give it a few taps and it'll come off in large peices.
