The big day has come for my beloved Alfred to go to the tuning specialist and get all his new shiny bits put on. Im hoping to have him back in 2 weeks max.

Heading down today after work at about 6.30pm. Am hoping the roads here stay dry as I dont like him getting wet lol.

Stuff to go on: -

LCB Manifold (already has)
RC40 exhaust (already has)
SC 45mm throttle body which includes inlet manifold, air filter & Typhoon ECU
Stage 3 head
1:5 rolling rockers
Sw05 cam i think
1380 bottom end with omega pistons
lightened flywheel
uprated clutch
recondition current gearbox (synchros, baulk rings etc)
cross pin diff
Vernier timing gear
twin point fuel pump (needed for the SC throttle body kit as Spi fuel pump cant give enough pressure)
polybush engine mounts
stabiliser engine and gearbox mounts

Will be interesting to see what power I achieve from all this.

ANYONE WANT TO GUESS END POWER RESULT?

Just noticed you said you have the 45mm throttle??? SC said these are only good for 100bhp??? Did they recommend this and have you measured the throttle???

Would have thought you would be over 100bhp with that setup???

Chris.

I don't think you will see 100 with that spec th be honest. Cam is fairly mild, and the head suits the cam, so no mad head here.

But whatever it puts out its going the be a nice engine with the injection unit you are putting on it!

Engine is now apart but the flywheel I got is the wrong 1! An order has to made anyway to minispares so he will order the correct 1. Just hope I can return the 1 I bought as it brand new!

Also the head had a slight issue on it. Not sure what its called but it looks like a metal washer that sits in a hole. When the head got skimmed at the factory, its ripped off most of this washer type piece so its not flush!! Just means may have a leak if its not sorted but the chaps I have doing the work can sort this out no hassle

Every piece I have is being stripped and checked and sorted out so its running at its best. The mini spares inlet manifold is a bit rough at the edges of the holes so they will sort this out also.

So cant wait for the work to be done. Am actually dreaming about it past 2 nights lol. How sad is that lol

Not at all. Last week I was lying awake worrying that I hadn't made Huey's alternator & coil look smart enough for his makeover. Time to move on.

lol thats hilarious.

The engines been fully stripped and washed including gearbox. Gearbox is being rebuilt on Sat with the new cross pin diff, new baulk rings and replacing any worn parts.

Will phone them on Monday to see how things are going.

The stage 3 head that had slight issue has been fixed.

The inlet mani that was rough around the edges has been fixed up also.

The pistons have arrived and the bottom end has been sent of to be rebored to 1380

The gearbox was rebuild there on sat but problems!! The cross pin diff is too tight and wont turn so hoping to get this sent back. Really hoping this is just a once off here.

We also have had issues with the flywheel as we needed other bits to fit it which I dont have a clue about (all technical stuff - over my head) so my man is having to call MED engineering to get the bits he needs otherwise we would have to use a standard flywheel.

We are getting there slowly. Its been 2 weeks already. The snow at the start meant packages were slow to come and now its a waiting game to get the bottom end rebored. Now it just more hassle with the diff. Why cant things be easy! Grrr. It feels like time has stood still

Not yet Chris. We are having problems getting parts! I phoned him last fri there and he was expecting the cross pin diff back and med was supposed to be sending out the clutch and flywheel kit that we need as the 1 I got isn't the correct type.

He phoned the man who was reboring the block and he was only makin a start on it then!!!

So our problem is getting the parts we need.

I don't want to annoy the man so I've decided to wait til fri to call him again 4 an update. I'm hopin by then all the main items will have arrived so jus a matter of him building it!

Progress: -

Block is back and rebored. All has been cleaned multiple times etc and the outside has been coated in 2 layers of red paint to match the red head so that should add atleast 10bhp to end result lol

The cross pin diff we are to get back should be with mini sport this afternoon so hopefully will be sent out this afternoon as we are told from there returns department!

Engine is getting done!!

Head in now on the block. The diff arrived back and works.!!!

It worked out the washers were too thick so they sent back same diff with thinner washers so it now turns and works! Lol

The camshaft is in and they are in the process of timing it in.

Still waiting on the clutch and flywheel but hopin we will have it by wed at latest I hope.

Il pop up soon to try and get pictures for I know project thread with no pictures ain't as good to read lol
