But here goes,
I have just got a E reg Mayfair, its perfect other than a few bits here and there, oh and it minus a front end an a engine...
Replacing the front with a Steel removable front... and fiting a HOT tuned MG lump

Now, I have decided to keep it looking fairly stock... only thing thats noticeable is the Centre exit RC40.
This is where my idea came in, as wide alloys are fairly an UN-stock item, can you get steel wheels widened? atm it has std 12x5? steels, would like something like 12x6 or even 12x7

I want x6 for the extra 20% grip, so I can really throw the Mini into corners etc.
I do know the rule... Pram wheels for speed, Fat wheels for grip, but neither will give you both!
Or the other idea keep the std steels, just recon'd them, and put a lower profile tyre on, this will reduce the side force a little, so technically, could let me go into corners faster, and maybe sometime bring out the back end or even go into a drift?
But can you get low profiles tyres for 12" wheels...
