There has been some talk as of late as to fitting golf cart wheels on our Minis and if they will hold up to every day use.

I know its harder to get them over in the UK, and I was wondering if any of you were interested in me making it easier for you to buy them.

The fitment is 10x7.

A couple of the wheels in question:

There's some guys here locally that were telling me about how they used golf cart/utility 10 inchers for slalom racing back in the 70s and 80s. You can't get Mini-sized tires (sorry "tyres") over here unless through a European car specialty shop that imports them. I looked at a Mini for sale locally last summer with "golfies" on it. Classic Mini fitment tires that would work on them are 165/10 and are available pretty easily.

For the profile of tyre that 10 inch mini wheels wear, the amount of stretch that occurs is relatively miniscule, especially when comparing it to Dub and Jap cars...

I agree, you can run 165's on 7 x 10" rims, and personally I think looks amazing with that little streched look

How much would the potenza looking ones cost to get them to my door? It's the import tax that puts me off really

If you're importing anything from outside the EU I would budget atleast 25% extra for tax, duty and extra delivery.

You could ask the sender to undervalue it but if you have to make an insurance claim you'd lose out.

My goal would be to make them as affordable as possible. It is good to know that you guys get hit with a 25% tax. I am really just trying to gauge interest to see if it would be worth setting everything up.

@ buddylove

Wow what a great initiative !!! I really appreciate it !! I've been contacting a lot of online dealers but all of them with the same negative answer.
Buggiesunlimited.com ships to Europe but does not have the polished potenza's anymore.

I'm really really really interested :D !

By the way a small remark. The chinese Potenza's can be found under different names. ITP, HAWK etc. If I remember correctly the hawks come WITHOUT A MARK stamped on the wheels. Subtle detail but still ;). Also keep in mind that the Potenza's are -22 offset, the other ones have a different offset.

You should consider this website as a US customer buddylove, they really have all the models (look at those amazing SSR replica's omg omg omg !!!)
Their webdesign sucks but hey : http://specialtytire...rt_wheeoldl.htm

Other useful online shops :

http://www.golfcartt...rome_wheels.htm
http://www.buggiesun...rt/10/166206302
http://recstuff.com/...-golf-cart.aspx

I'll promote it in the "Stance thread" cause that are the people you are aiming at.

ps: The "stretch' is not a big deal on our little 10 inch wheels when using 165/70/10 Yokohama's. Carl from Forceracing wheels also recommends them on his 10x7 wheels.

you need to get a job in the tyre industry as you clearly know more that the people that make and rate these tyres

they have been rating these tyres for 6 inch rims for years and suddenly you know best

I would rather not bicker over tire sizes in this thread. Its everyones choice as to how the want to mod and setup their car. This thread is only to gauge interest to see if people would like my help in sourcing the wheels.

I wasn't saying that I know best Bungle, I was just passing on information that was given to me by the guys at Force Racing.... For the amount of sidewall that the tyres have, the stretch is miniscule.....

i don't want to pee on anyone's chips, but i wouldn't want to be in the situation where n insurance assessor or accident investigator was looking at a car that i owned that was fitted with golf cart wheels ;-)
