Not the best! The McDonalds next to the cinema in strood is more likely to get my business, or the one at Bobbing, but the only time I've chosen to go to Chatham high Street was to see something at the theatre with the Mrs when we were dating

If you didnt like it then I guess you had to do what you had to do. I too was an apprectice ( started in 1987 ) and was on £27.30 pew week. Out of that, I rebuilt my Mini, paid rent to my parents and managed a somewhat limited social life. I got initiated at the econd garage ( a commercial PSV company ) and I nearly quit after that. Hoswever, i lived with it and got respected for not being a cry baby. I only left the trade due to dermatitis from oil on my hands. I now have an office job in credit hire/ accident management, a job that I thought I would never do. But, its interesting and I meet loads of eclectic people. This is just to tide me over until I get my dream job @ a MINI dealership.......

Dont worry too much about your rents moaning, they may be a tad dissapointed that you ahave not goe a career job as of yet, but at least your working and paying your way thorugh society...........

Craig McDonalds store managers earn something silly like 25-45K a year.

I don't see what's wrong with working in a what must be a billion dollar company!

Its really not the worst job in the world. You will get to meet a lot of interesting people. And no doubt some rather odd ones in Chatham

And like you say, its better than standing in that queue. It just proves there are jobs out there. I bet very few people from that queue you talk of actually applied for the job. 40 hours per week is enough to keep a mini on the road.
