I like this thread! I have owned several exhausts. I started with Sportex. A double center exit which was connected to the standard link pipe. Although cheap, Sportex is inferior quality in my opinion. Next came a stage one kit with a Maniflow exhaust system which is of course one of the best. I had a single center exit. Then came the ultimate solution which is the Maniflow Carbontec silencer. You can't get them anymore, so they're quite special. I've had it for over a decade an even did a rebuild using new damper wool and new rivets. I know a company here in NL that can make these, but they would be quite expensive. About 350 euro for the damper only. See pictures below:
