Yes, you can remove the intake duct above the drivers feed so the heater recirculates air from inside the car. Just make sure that you blank off the inlet stub properly, or you will have cold air at your feet. You will want to leave the under-wing duct and airbox in place so that the cold vent can still deliver fresh air from ahead of the engine when required. The stub which the duct inside the car fits to is the larger outlet on the airbox, the smaller one on top feeds the vent.

Ref to what Tiger rightly says about your dash vents, I've blanked mine off hence didn't need the intakes anymore :)

So just to clarify, blank off the inlet hole on the right hand side of the footwell and the intake on the blower unit itself? If so where does the unit get its air from?

Blank off footwell hole to outside, leave blower hole :)
