Could someone please post a picture of the accelerator pedal and bracket.

Not sure if I lost the bracket or its something simple I'm overlooking.

Thanks :D

EDIT: How does the accelerator cable get hooked up to firewall, does it just go thru it and be held by the firewall on the engine side or is there a bracket inside the cabin?

There is a clip at the top of the pedal:

I meant, how does the cable get held to the body of car near the accelerator pedal.

The cars completely stripped and nothing obvious is popping out, except for what I think is a missing bracket that I can't find anywhere (if it even exists).

Looking for something like this, but with a clearer picture of accelerator cable and firewall. Thanks.

Like this...?

Not a very clear picture...

The cable just feeds through the firewall...

The cable outer is too big to go through the hole...

The end of the cable is secured with the clip to the pedal...

OK?

Is that a picture of yours? As the clip is on the wrong way round.

Ahhh ok. Thanks.

I couldn't find the old cable, so used a Toyota cable that was laying around, but couldn't find a bracket. Guess there's no bracket lol.

Thanks for the info :D

How high is your accelerator pedal?

Mine's almost level with the brake pedal, and just barely gets to open the carb fully before it hits the floor. This is without carpets or sound deadening. I could bend the accelerator pedal more, but it would make it higher than the brakes.

Is there any slack in your accelerator cable? With the peddle fully down the butterfly should open up fully.

No slack, in fact the cable has slight tension on it.The pedal was bent in storage, then re-bent it to where its just level with the brake pedal. Right now, it opens the carb completely, what worries me is, when the carpet/deadening/felt is installed, it won't open the carb completely, unless I bend the accelerator pedal higher than the brake pedal.

And it'd be difficult to heel-toe with the pedals the same height or with the gas pedal higher.

Have a look at the accelerator peddle for sale on mini spares website, that should give you a good idea on whether you have bent it back to the correct position.

It's bent back almost the same. Maybe the brake pedal's just too low.

Maybe, I had a look at mine and the accelerator peddle sits much lower than the the break and clutch, and it fully opens the butterfly on the carb. So not sure what's going on with yours. Difficult to know what to suggest with seeing it in situ.
