OK guys, what color should I have the rollcage powdered / painted?
I'm going with red Schroth seatbelts / harnesses, so, keeping that in mind, I'm thinking the options are:

1.) Red - may clash with the seatbelts and / or give a goofy balance to the color scheme, but would be eyepopping, maybe I shodl switch to black harnesses?
2.) Flat black as it came from Safety Devices?
3.) Silver, to give some brightness / contrast to the color scheme if it doesn't detract too much / stand out as odd?
4.) Zinc / gold to match the shifter hardware and the other Promotive bits and wheel centers, may look a bit chav / bling though?

What do you think? Any other ideas? Doing something with it hopefully this weekend, so time is a wastin' !!!!

Cheers,

Aric

Same colour as the roof, which kinda matches the carbon you have.

Personally I'd go for options 2 or 4.
The Car stayin black?? If so they are your 2 options.....black car red cage just look wrong. Silver always makes me think of boyracers and there chrome but completely incompitant cages

progress continues...

Attached are a few updated pictures - I have the subframe and engine mostly in, the shifter and pedals rebuilt and fitted along with teh steering colum and drop braket from Promotive, the KAD brake bias box mocked up, most of the rear ally beam and suspension with KAD arms in, the parking brake (with the proper rally reverse pawl!) fitted, and the wipers all set to go....phweew! My wife's on holiday with the kids in Greece, so I'm making a ton of headway now...

The wiper kit, which I'm really happy with, is a Frankenstein setup using the old rack and wheelboxes, a new 2 speed wiper motor (anyone need a good functioning square MK1 unit??) and a conversion kit to adapt the Mk1 to the two speed motor from Minimania.

Next steps this weekend will be to fit the front brace bars (do you think I really need them though?....Miglias don't use them, and the MOT-equivalent requirement doesn't exist here in the States), as well as weld B Pillar supports to the rear cage so I can get it out and final paint done on it.

KAD front brakes shoud lbe here in a week or so, as well as some misc bits from Minispares and Polycarb windows from ACW.

Happy with my progress so far!

Cheers,

Aric

Dash in process fitting and steering wheel mockup.

The dash is a little dusty from carbon dust and the not fully trimmed, but you get the picture. The opening in the wheel top will take my AIM MyChron3 digidash.

Hi, if your still not sure what colour to have the roll-cage, why not put take some pics and put it in the digital section on TMF?
then people who are a dab hand at photoshop and have a few spare mins (like me! lol) could knock you something up!
Would help your decision making.

I personally would have the brace bars, there is not a lot of strength in the front of a mini. I assume the frame is now solid mounted and if so you could get away with no brace bars if wanted to

Looks fantastic. Go with black or silver roll cage. And what exactly did you do to the parking brake?
