Didn't check on the process of the truck, don't really want to pester Si too much.
Tonight though, I've been fannying on with the engine getting things bolted on ready for it going in, mainly to speed things up a bit.
Inlet manifold was first to go on along with the gaskets

Polished water neck on

Not sure if this is a good or bad sign lol?

Water pump was given the high temp black and clear coat treatment to match the engine as it was a dark grey finish which would have probably rusted in no time.

Pulley went on.

Quick peek at what the valve covers will look like

And with the new air cleaner, definitely made the right choice with these ones.

The finishing touch to the air cleaner is definitely the wing nut

Oil pressure sender is in, so much easier than trying to get it in and nipped up when the engine's in.

Chrome alternator brackets and refurbished alternator in place, I did consider a chrome alternator but thought it might be a bit overkill

Dipstick and water temperature sender fitted

Engine mounts on, look a bit tatty in comparison to everything else

So gave them a quick dusting with the black & clear coat

By the looks of the inlet manifold, there's nowhere to put the carb spacer, I'm guessing because it's matched to the carb, I don't need to run with it as the carb studs line up exactly with the manifold.
So there we go, that's pretty much all I can really do until it's out of it's crate, I've put the pressed metal valve covers back on and taken the carb back off for now so nothing gets damaged, that means there's still the fuel pump, oil filter adapter, crank damper, crank pulley, flex plate, carb, valve covers, air cleaner, starter motor and distributor to go on, not really a massive amount, that will all have to be done just before it's ready to drop in though.
