Any updates?

Not much in the way of progress, been trying to make some headway with the bumper and spoiler to line up. Rather than get irritated about it, I left it for a little and went and did some work on it today. It'll be going back to the paint shop next weekend for some touch ups, a polish and the roof to be done in a pearl to match the body, just have to decide what colour to go for.

Got these today :

998 Cooper speedo :

Early 'S' rearview mirror :

Got them for some good prices too.

Thanks  :-)

Gave the parts a bit of a clean up. Didn't want to make a big job of it, I like the patina that they have about them as is.

Last few things to do on the fiberglass items and then give the car a good clean and she's ready for the paint shop.

This is what the front spoiler looks like now. You can see the cutouts for the number plate brackets and the extension pieces for the over riders. I think I'm going to make it black, but can't decide between satin or gloss black :

This is what the bumpers currently look like. Managed to straighten the front one out as best I can, but you can still see how bashed up it is. I need to give them a proper polish, new rubber strips and some paint underneath.

Will update with some pictures soon.

An average 1100 Clubman or round nose goes for about R25 000, which at the current exchange rate is roughly GBP1400. Seems almost like a bargain then, but people are starting to ask triple that amount now for cars that aren't worth it.

At the current exchange rate, a Cooper S is roughly GBP8500 - which really does sound like a bargain!!

Maybe I should do that, fewer colours to get mixed

It's pretty much as good as I'm going to get it. Fingerprints are going to be the death of me!

Had someone come and sort out the little bit of seam seal on the fender today. She'll be going for definite this Friday. Flatted the arches and spoiler this afternoon - they'll be painted the same colour as the car to make it easier. Also, the roof is more than likely going to be a Toyota or Mazda pearl white to match the blue.

Hopefully I'll get something back, that I've had made for the car, in this week or next.

So she went in this afternoon to the sprayers, will be going tomorrow to help them out. I didn't get a picture of the car on the trailer unfortunately. I also might have to settle for a plain metallic colour at the moment as they're struggling a bit with the pearls.

Here's the seam seal :

She had some work done on her this morning. Fixed up the main area which was the front fender and then the dashboard. Did a few touch ups here and there.

Also got some colour on the arches and spoiler (the booth was dark by then, sorry for the bad quality) :

Needs a good cut and polish now! Yet to decide on the roof situation though.

Its a step closer mate and with the panel work done, you can start putting it back together...
