Fitted MS gas struts today before she goes back for paint. They work really well and handle the weight well - I'm happy. Picture (excuse the dust on the car please) :

Back onto steels and a few more holes to drill before she goes back to the panelbeaters sometime soon.

They work really well too - lifting is easy enough, as is closing, not too much pressure for either. It was a bit of a mission to fit them though, as I had to fit the master cylinder, wiper motor, expansion tank and heater hose bracket, just to make sure everything lined up and didn't foul. Took me quite a while, but well worth it. Besides, I did pick these up for a steal (brand new I might add).

very nice mod with the bonnet struts! the only thing to be careful of is windy days. I was polishing my headlights on my commodore today, wind got gusty and slammed bonnet shut,,had my head under it about 5 seconds beforehand!

New acquisition today :

It's an Austin Apache TC one, bought for a bargain. It'll be sent off to a place in Durban to be repaired at some stage this year.

It seems when it was fitted to the car it came out of, the needle went over to the side and before coming back the car was switched off and just stayed there. Well that's what the specialists said, but the important thing is they said that they can fix it.

Thats a nice pick-up... You should use one of these Broadspeed units to put it in... I plan to use one when I fit a tacho in mine... either buy one or make one... I reckon they look good....

I do like those, often thought of having one made for a car at some stage, will have to see how it goes!

These came out the box :

Set of standard width Group 2 arches (only the RHS in the picture)
Mexico chin spoiler.

And, a test fit :

She does look a little over arched on the front, but that's only because I haven't yet cut into the arch to get around the seam strip. Have to trim a bit here and there, but so far, I'm happy with the fit and quality.
