Ah bugger :( It would've been cool at some stage to have 3 photos of you, your dad and your grandad parked next to BMC cars in a frame in your garage.

Made a rather special purchase the other day, and it finally arrived!

Thanks  =] I'm going to check it tomorrow to see how it works and then I need to think of something for the wiring.

Without going through your full build.... If you have a centre binnacle I'd be tempted but put a switch on that with a light next to it so you know it's on ...:0) ..... I shouldn't be telling you all these secrets haha

Jay, you can stick the switch in one of those pods that are on either side of the binnacle. Rally style! :D

I have a free switch on the dash panel on the driver's side. The light, however, has its own switch on the rear of the housing.

Test fitted the rear AA badge today :

Also cleaned up the wiring in the boot. Still need some loom tape over it, but it started raining, so I went inside.

How did you attach it in the end? Bracket onto the rear bumper?

Is there a badge or sticker underneath the Mini badge? Looks like something is there in that photo.

Flat bar between the two bumper bolts and then the bracket mounted to that. I definitely won't be drilling into one of these bumpers or that part of the body.

Yep. StickyFingers logo.

That's good to know. I remember you've mentioned that mk3 bumpers are quite rare. It would have been a shame to drill a hole into it.

I have a spare one here. Just need to decide if goes to the States for Mark's Mk3 or stay here for mine.

Or it could go on your next project... don't send it state side. Rare parts should stay in SA :)

I started with cleaning off the engine today. Covered in old oil and dirt - blegh.

I also polished up the rocker cover yesterday. Didn't overdo it - more of a clean and light polish :

Can't wait to fit this guy :

And my car with the Jetta my brother recently bought :
